Kids in the Dayton area benefit from club-sponsored projects as well as hands-on volunteer service in support of local organizations. What’s more, the Kiwanis Club of Dayton Ohio Foundation awards grants to worthy programs for children.
Kiwanis Club Projects
Kiwanis Club of Dayton sponsors a variety of projects assisting children locally and worldwide. Some of our annual projects include:
Coats for Kids – We furnish 50-75 new winter coats, hats and gloves for needy families with infants and toddlers.
Family Christmas Event – We organize a party complete with presents for children, personal care gift bags for parents/guardians and a visit from Santa.
Kiwanis Cakes for Kids – We deliver a fresh baked and decorated birthday cake to children who might otherwise be without one.
Board Books for Babies – We promote literacy by collecting 1,000 new or gently used “board” books for babies. Help Me Grow/Brighter Futures uses the books with young parents, encouraging them to read with their children right from the start.
Hands-on Volunteer Service
Kiwanis Club of Dayton members are known for lending a hand to organizations serving children. We support Special Olympics by volunteering at the annual bowling tournament and track/field competitions. Additional agencies served include the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center, The FoodBank, The Hope Center…and many more.
